Driver arrested for DUI after hitting 2 pedestrians in Yelm, Washington
The Olympian reports that a woman and a 14-year-old girl were hit by a car while walking after a football game in Yelm, Washington. The woman and teenage girl both suffered minor injuries; the driver of the car who hit them was arrested for driving under the influence.
The Washington State Legislature set the BAC (blood alcohol content) intoxication standard to 0.08. A person caught driving with that BAC will automatically lose their license. If a driver seriously injures someone while driving under the influence, they can be charged with vehicular assault.
