King County sheriff’s deputy injured in Bellevue car accident due to icy I-405

A 44-year-old King County Sheriff’s deputy was taken to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue with minor injures in a single car accident on Tuesday. According to a report in the Bellevue Reporter, the deputy crashed into the Jersey Barrier on Interstate 405 north of Northeast Eighth Street. Apparently she lost control of her vehicle due to icy road conditions.

The report said the motor vehicle accident occurred around 6am and the southbound HOV lane had to be closed for a couple of hours.

The officer suffered facial cuts and was treated and released.
