Seattle man injured, passenger killed in SUV roll-over accident near University of Washington

A 32-year old Seattle man was critically injured and his passenger was killed on the northbound Interstate 5 in Seattle near the NE 50th street exit in a roll-over car accident.

A report in The Seattle Times said that police were responding to a call about erratic driving when they came upon an SUV engulfed in flames. Witnesses had seen the SUV, a Chevrolet Blazer, speeding shortly before 2am. Apparently, the driver lost control of the Blazer, it hit some light poles, rolled and ended up on its top. The driver was able to extricate himself from the vehicle. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life threatening injuries. His passenger died at the scene.
