Snowmobile accident kills Seattle man on Lake Cle Elum

A night time snowmobiling accident killed a first-time snowmobiler when the snowmobiler ran into some trees at a high rate of speed on Lake Cle Elum. The man, John Safka, age 42, of Seattle suffered head, neck and chest injuries in the snowmobile accident.

The Seattle Times reports that the accident occurred around 10:30pm on Friday night. Safka was taken to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital in Ellensburg but he was pronounced dead.
