Teenager killed, brother seriously injured south of Shelton

The Washington State Patrol reports that one brother was seriously injured and one was killed in a very tragic single-car accident in Mason County, 14 miles north of Shelton.

According to the report, 16-year-old Joshua McGuire of Allyn went off the road on State Route 3, south of Allyn and struck a utility pole around 9:25am. Joshua received serious head injuries and a broken neck in the accident; he was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Joshua’s brother, 14-year-old Jordan McGuire, was seated in the front passenger seat and was killed in the car accident.

The WSP do not believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident and said the boys were on route to school at the time of the accident.
