Man involved in pedestrian accident near Northgate mall

A pedestrian, who darted into traffic near the Northgate mall, and was hit by a car was not seriously injured in the accident reports The Seattle Times.

The 31-year-old man was said to have been “possibly highly intoxicated” when he ran into traffic along Northgate Way, two blocks west of the Northgate mall. A 28-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Cavalier hit the man who was thrown onto the car’s windshield and hit his head when he fell to the pavement.

Initially, it was thought that the man had suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and should be released after 24-48 hours.

Police may cite the man for jaywalking.
