Ferndale girl killed when car runs stop sign in Mount Vernon

A 15-year-old girl, Alyssa V. Fell of Ferndale, was killed in a car accident around 11pm on Wednesday night when the car she was riding in ran a stop sign at the intersection of Farm to Market Road in Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon is a city approximately 33 miles north of Everett via Interstate 5.

According to a report by KOMO News, the girl was in a Volvo driven by an 18-year-old man. The Volvo collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 56-year-old man.

The driver of the Ford was seriously injured and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The driver of the Volvo and another 15-year-old passenger were taken to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the car accident.
