Man killed, 2 injured in Everett car accident
Police believe that speed may have been a factor in the car accident death of a 20-year-old man who was killed as he made a left turn on Friday evening in Everett.
Seattle's KOMO News.com reports that the man was driving southbound on Everett's Evergreen Way and was attempting to make a left turn into a parking lot in the 9000 block. According to the report, a Northbound Acura t-boned the man's Toyota and he was killed at the scene.
The driver of the Acura and his female passenger were taken to Providence Hospital in Everett with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe the driver of the Acura may have been speeding at the time of the accident. Vehicle Code RCW 46.61.185 "Vehicle Turning Left" requires that a driver turning left yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. In a case like this, degrees of fault may be determined after a report is made by the Washington State Patrol.

The driver that was killed is identified as Nicolas Gorrell, age 25 and the engaged father of three children.
Police say that the driver who hit Gorrell's red Toyota was street racing another vehicle at the time of the accident. He is cooperating with police and said that he has described the other vehicle as a white or primer gray car similar to a Dodge Neon.
