Man killed, 2 injured in Everett car accident

Police believe that speed may have been a factor in the car accident death of a 20-year-old man who was killed as he made a left turn on Friday evening in Everett.

Seattle’s KOMO News.com reports that the man was driving southbound on Everett’s Evergreen Way and was attempting to make a left turn into a parking lot in the 9000 block. According to the report, a Northbound Acura t-boned the man’s Toyota and he was killed at the scene.

The driver of the Acura and his female passenger were taken to Providence Hospital in Everett with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the driver of the Acura may have been speeding at the time of the accident. Vehicle Code RCW 46.61.185 “Vehicle Turning Left” requires that a driver turning left yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. In a case like this, degrees of fault may be determined after a report is made by the Washington State Patrol.
