Man killed in Seattle car accident on Interstate 5 near Boeing field

A driver was seriously injured and later died of his injuries in a single-car accident on Interstate 5 at the Michigan exit near Boeing field reports King5.com.

According to the report, the 48-year-old Seattle man was speeding when he veered from the fast lane and crossed over all lanes of traffic in attempt to take the Michigan Street off-ramp. Because of his excessive speed, he apparently lost control and hit a guardrail causing significant damage to his vehicle .

The critically injured man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he succumbed to his injuries.

Washington State Patrol Sergeant Mark Crandall said that while road conditions were wet that driver’s speed was the cause of the accident.

The WSP are investigating whether alcohol or drugs were also involved.
