Fatal motorcycle accidents down in Washington state
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported some good news today: fatal motorcycle accidents have dropped in 2009 compared with the same period in 2008. This summer, from May to the end of September, there were only 43 fatal motorcycle accidents compared with 62 fatal accidents during the same period in 2008.
So far this year, there have been 62 fatal motorcycle accidents.
The major factors in motorcycle accidents are:
- alcohol or drugs
- speeding
- rider inexperience causing errors with lane changes or losing control on curves
