Suspected drunk driver rear-ends semi-truck at Federal Way weigh station

A suspected drunk driver rear-ended a semi-truck at the Federal Way weigh station off of Interstate 5 reports Seattle’s KOMO News.com.

According to the report, the driver of a black Mercedes was driving at speeds of around 70mph right before rear-ending the semi truck.

The driver of the Mercedes was taken to a local hospital for treatment of head-injuries. He will be cited for driving under the influence. In Washington state, DUI offenses are gross misdemeanors. The standard of intoxication is 0.08%. Drunk drivers can lose their licenses.
