Lynnwood single-car accident kills 2, injures 2

Two young men in their twenties were killed and two other young men are in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after their car hit a tree in Lynnwood.

According to a report in the Everett HeraldNet.com, the single-car accident occurred around 2am at the intersection of 176th Street SW and North Road. Two men were killed in the accident and one had to be extricated from the car wreckage.

In their preliminary investigation, excessive speed appears to be the cause of the accident. The car was estimated to be traveling between 70 and 80 mph in a 35mph posted zone. The driver apparently failed to negotiate a turn that was marked 25 mph.
