Union Gap man killed in single-car accident near Toppenish

Police are investigating what caused a 45-year-old Union Gap man, Paul D. Wahpat, to lose control of his car causing it to veer across the oncoming lane of traffic and crash into a ditch reports the Yakima Herald.

Wahpat was killed in the single-vehicle accident that occurred outside of Toppenish around 6am.

The Washington State Patrol says that Wahpat was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
