Car crashes into Puyallup house; driver injured, 2 in house escape injury

A woman whom police believe was driving drunk was injured when she lost control of her car and ran into the front living room of a house in Puyallup, Washington reports Seattle’s King5.com.

The single car accident occurred around 3am on Sunday morning.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. She faces charges of driving under the influence.

Helen Heggstad and her 15-year-old grandson, C.J. Heggstad, were sleeping in the house when the car hit. They were wakened by a neighbor who heard the crash and saw flames coming from the back of the car.

The Heggstad’s will have to stay with friends until their house is repaired including the electrical box.
