Bicyclist seriously injured in Seattle Admiral Way accident

A 40-year-old Seattle man was seriously injured in a bicycle accident this morning when he was hit by a car on Southwest Admiral Way at The Bridge. (see map).

It appears that the bicyclist may have been hit by a motorist making a left hand turn. The bicyclist was trapped under the vehicle and the car had to be jacked up and the bicycle cut into pieces before the cyclist could be extricated. The driver of the car was not injured.

According to one report, the bicyclist was undergoing surgery on his pelvis.

The Seattle Police have asked anyone who witness the accident to contact Detective Tim Wear at (206) 684-8935.
