A 17-year-old Wenatchee teen, Joshua Ray, was airlifted to Spokane's Sacred Heart Medical Center after he was critically injured in a motor vehicle accident on Highway 97A, nine miles south of Chelan.
According to a report in The Wenatchee World, the driver of the pickup truck that Ray was riding in, Tyler Totten, 18, of East Wenatchee, was attempting to make a U-turn when the truck was hit by a Subaru Impreza driven by Craig Hocking, 25, of East Wenatchee. Totten was cited for making an illegal U-turn. Two other passengers in the pickup truck, Rebecca Howell and Brandon Neal, were treated for minor injuries.
