Passenger critically injured in Seattle car accident

The passenger of a Subaru suffered life-threatening injuries in a car accident in Seattle at the 800 block of 23rd Avenue near East Marion Street reports the Seattle PI.com.

According to the report, the car accident occurred around 7:35am when the driver of the Subaru ran a stop sign and collided with a Saab in the northbound lanes of 23rd Avenue.

The critically injured man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with injuries described as “life-threatening.”

The report said there were other injuries in the accident.

The driver of the Subaru may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident; police say they found alcohol containers in the car and they are investigating the driver for possible DUI.

If a person is seriously injured in a traffic accident and the driver was under the influence of alcohol, the driver may be charged with Vehicular Assault according to Washington Motor Vehicle Code, RCW 46.61.522.
