Rollover car accident in Lynnwood injures 3, driver faces Vehicular Assault charges

Three people were injured in a single-car accident when the Dodge Magnum they were riding in went out of control on Highway 525 near the Alderwood mall, rolled over and crashed into a ditch.

An 18-year-old woman from Bellevue was the most seriously injured and she was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of injuries to her chest.

A 22-year-old Mukilteo man was taken to Stevens Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old Bothell man, was taken to Stevens hospital and then arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol. He may be charged with Vehicular Assault. Washington State vehicle code RCW 46.61.522 Vehicular Assault, states that a person can be charged with Vehicular Assault if someone is seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident and the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time.
