Couple in their 70s critically injured in Auburn car accident

The Washington State Patrol is investigating an Auburn two-car accident in which an elderly couple in their 70s were critically injured.

The Seattle PI.com reports that a male in his 70s and a female in her 70s suffered life threatening injuries in the car accident that occurred on Friday night on Highway 18 in Auburn. The male driver of the vehicle was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center and the female passenger was transported by ground.

According to the report, motorists called 911 at 7:10 after seeing a car on its top near the Southeast 304th Street exit. The two victims had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the accident suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Details about the cause of the motor vehicle accident were sketchy but the WSP’s investigation should determine fault.
