Mandatory Arbitration

Mandatory Arbitration:

In mandatory arbitration, damages are awarded through alternative dispute resolution between parties outside of the court. The parties can refer the dispute to one or more third parties — arbitrators — by whose decision they agree to abide. In Washington State, civil actions where the award sought is not in excess of $50,000, depending upon the county, can subject the action to mandatory arbitration.
