Mistrial

Mistrial:

A mistrial is when a judge terminates a trial before a verdict has been returned. A mistrial can be declared in numerous cases including a hung jury, misconduct by a party or juror, improperly admitted evidence, a prejudicial error that can not be corrected, or if the court determines it lacks jurisdiction in the case.
