Speeding car in Pt. Defiance Park, Tacoma critically injures 2 pedestrians

Two pedestrians were critically hurt by a speeding car while walking in Pt. Defiance Park in Tacoma. KOMO TV news and the Tacoma police report that an 18-year-old driver was speeding through the park on a winding road at 50-70 mph when he lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road and hit a man and a woman. The vehicle then rolled over. The posted speed limit is 20 mph.

The unidentified woman is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her companion is in critical condition at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma.
