Port Angeles woman backs car up through restaurant and injures 3

Seattle’s KOMO News.com reports that a 77-year-old Port Angeles woman, Maria Sands, accidentally backed up through the glass wall of the Fairmount Italian Restaurant, injuring three people seated at a restaurant table in an unfortunate pedestrian accident.

According to the report, Elisabeth Nicole Hagerman, 19, was taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles with internal bleeding and a broken arm. Her mother, Huberta Meadows 42, was treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center. Juana Argyronpoulous, 50, was also treated and discharged.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident. The driver has no idea why she could not stop her car. She traveled a distance of over 200 feet when she ran through the restaurant window and into the diners.
