Seattle police chase injures 3 on 520 floating bridge

Seattle’s King5.com reports that the State Patrol conducted a high-speed chase of a stolen SUV which ended when the SUV rear-ended two vehicles on the Highway 520 floating bridge. Three people in the rear-ended vehicles were injured. The rear-ended cars, a Saab and a Subaru Outback, were so badly damaged that they had to be cut open to get two of the injured passengers out. All three people in the two cars that were hit were taken to the hospital with injuries, one with serious injuries.

The car chase began when Troopers saw an SUV driving against traffic on the I-5 ramp in Shoreline. They followed the SUV which travelled at speeds of up to 100 mph. The SUV then took the 520 East-ward towards Bellevue. The Troopers were able to arrest the driver of the SUV and he is being held on charges of DUI, automobile theft and possessing stolen goods.
