Seattle’s KOMO TV reports that three people were injured in a head-on car accident near Sultan, Washington. The accident occurred after a 33-year-old Monroe man, who was driving without headlights on past midnight, crashed head-on into another car on Highway 2. The other car was knocked on its side.
The wrong-way driver said that he had consumed a six-pack of beer that evening . He was critically injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The two women in the other car did not appear as seriously injured. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Harborview by ambulance. Her passenger was transported to Valley General Hospital in Monroe for treatment.
Washington State Law provides that a driver can be charged with vehicular assault if someone is seriously injured in a car accident if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In the State of Washington, 0.08% is the legal limit for alcohol.
