Two injured, two cars totaled in Highway 97 accident near Brewster, WA

Ramiriez Chavez, 16, of Brewster suffered injuries to his chest and neck after crossing the center line and crashing into another car on Highway 97, two miles north of Brewster, Washington reports The Wenatchee World.

The car accident occurred around 3:30 pm when Chavez, who was headed north, crossed the center line and hit Lilia V. Gutierrez, 27, also of Brewster.

Chavez was taken to Okanogan-Douglas Hospital for treatment of his injuries Gutierrez suffered a head injury and a bruise to her chest and was also taken to Okanogan-Douglas. The State Patrol said both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Chavez’s vehicle, a 1993 Nissan Altima, and Gutierrez’s vehicle, a 2006 Nissan Altima, were both totaled in the accident.

The Washington State Patrol cited Ramirez for a center line violation and for driving with out a license or insurance.
