Bellevue man arrested in Fall City pedestrian accident

A Bellevue man was arrested late Sunday night after he his car struck a pedestrian who was walking along State Route 202 in Fall City reports The Seattle Post-Intelligencer. According to the report, Matthew R. Mahaffey, 34, of Snoqualmie was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after the accident.

Washington State Patrol booked the 53-year-old Bellevue man on suspicion of Vehicular Assault because they believe he may have been under the influence at the time of the accident. Vehicular Assault , Washington State Statute RCW 46.61.522, can be charged if a person was under the alcohol or drugs in an accident that caused serious injuries to another person.
