Twenty-five students escaped serious injury early this morning when their East Valley School District bus was involved in a hit-and-run accident. The accident occurred 10 miles east of Yakima on Smith Road and State Route 24.
According to The Seattle Times, the accident occurred when the bus driver was making a left turn and a mini-van tried to pass it. The mini-van is described as a 1990’s Chrysler or Dodge minivan with heavy damage to its right or passenger side. The driver of the mini-van then fled the accident scene and was last seen East Bound on State Route 24.
State Patrol is asking anyone with information about this accident to call them at 575-2320.
