Omak woman killed in Chelan-area head-on car accident

The Omak Chronicle reports that Ginni L. Torres, age 44, of Omak was killed in a head-on car accident on US Highway 97 near Chelan.

The car accident occurred around 6pm. Torres was riding in a car driven by Oval K. Hourtz, 67, headed northbound near BeBee Bridge. Hourtz collided with a pickup truck driven by Humerto Rodriguez Espino, age 30, of Brewster. It is reported that Espino crossed the center line and Hourtz was unable to avoid the collision.

According to the report, Torres died at the accident scene. Hourtz suffered head and hand injuries and suffered a broken rib. He was taken from Lake Chelan Community Hospital and then transported to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Espino suffered chest and arm injuries and he was treated at Lake Chelan Community Hospital.

Both vehicles involved in the car accident were totaled.
