Seattle motorcycle rider suffers serious head injury in accident on Duwamish

The Seattle 911 police blog at the Seattle PI.com reports that a motorcycle rider suffered a serious head injury in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on Wednesday evening on Duwamish Avenue South.

According to the report, the man lost control of his motorcycle and hit a Jersey barrier. The motorcyclist was riding with another cyclist at the time.

The unconscious accident victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

In 2009, there have already been nine fatal motorcycle accidents in Washington State. Motorcyclists are required to get a motorcycle endorsement which requires both a riding as well as a written test.
