Woman charged with vehicular homicide in pedestrian accident death

The King County Prosecutor’s Office have filed Vehicular Homicide charges against Pamela Jean Woodard, age 40, in the death of Loren Fuller, age 73, who was killed in a pedestrian accident last year in Seattle reports The Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

The accident occurred on First Avenue South near South Dearborn Street. Fuller was crossing the street in a crosswalk when Woolard pulled around a stopped vehicle in the four lane street and hit Fuller. Fuller died of multiple internal injuries at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Two Seattle police officers witnessed the accident.

Woolard is being charged with Vehicular Homicide because blood tests determined that she had marijuana in her system at the time of the accident. Police also found crystal methamphetamine in her vehicle after obtaining a search warrant. Vehicular Homicide can be charged if someone is killed in a accident and the driver of the motor vehicle was under the influence, driving recklessly or without regard to the safety of others.
