Single car accident injures two near Sumner

The Tacoma News Tribune reports that Martin E. Schuler, age 41 of Sumner, was critically injured and Lisa M. Prime, age 41 of Puyallup, was seriously injured in a single-car accident on Highway 162 near Sumner.

According to the report, Sumner lost control of the car he was driving as he was attempting to pass another car around 11:15pm on Sunday. Apparently, his car hit a fire hydrant, two concrete dividers and a telephone pole.

Police believe that alcohol was a factor in the car accident. Prime was apparently wearing her seat belt while Schuler was not wearing a seat belt.
