Car accident injures babies when SUV runs into Redmond daycare

Three babies between the ages of three and nine months old were injured when an SUV ran into the Childtime Children’s Center building around 4pm in Redmond.

According to an article in The Seattle Times, two of the babies were taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue for treatment and the third was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. None of the babies’ injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

The car accident occurred when a 45-year-old North Bend woman ran into the building with her 2006 Toyota RAV-4. More than half the vehicle entered the building. There were seven small children and workers in the room when the vehicle entered. It is fortunate that none of the children were killed.

It is not known whether the woman hit the gas-pedal instead of the brake, driver inattention such as using a cell phone, or drugs or alcohol was involved; Police are investigating.
