Oak Harbor boy seriously injured in pedestrian accident while walking to school

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that an 11-year-old Whidbey Island boy, Alex Snellman, was seriously injured on Monday morning when he was hit by a truck while walking to North Whidbey Middle School. According to the report, the pedestrian accident occurred around 7:30am in dark and overcast conditions. Snellman was allegedly struck by a pickup truck while he was in a crosswalk on Regatta Drive.

Snellman was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is listed in serious condition with a broken femur and a fractured clavicle according to the P-I.
