Mulkiteo teen seriously injured in pedestrian accident near speedway

A 14-year-old Mulkiteo boy has life-threatening injuries after being injured in a pedestrian accident around 7am this morning reports the Everett Herald.net.

According to the report, the boy was hit as he ran across Beverly Park Road neat the Mukilteo Speedway; He was not in a crosswalk at the time.

The injured teen was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

Police said the driver that hit the boy was cooperating with police. According to Washington State Vehicle Code, RCW 46.61.240, pedestrians must yield the way to vehicles when crossing a roadway at any point other than a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection.
