Memorial Day rollover over car accident claims life of 24-year-old man in Seattle

A 24-year-old man was killed in a rollover car accident in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near the Aurora Bridge in Seattle this morning around 7:27am.

The driver of the vehicle, also a 24-year-old man, was treated at Harborview Medical Center and was arrested upon release. He may be charged with Vehicular Homicide. Washington State Vehicle Code RCW 46.61.520, states that Vehicular Homicide can be charged if a person is killed in a motor vehicle accident and the driver was driving with reckless disregard for the safety of others, was driving under the influence or driving recklessly.

It appears that speed was certainly a factor in this accident. Police are investigating.
