WSP seek Honda Accord involved in I-405 hit-and-run accident on New Years day

The Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses to a New Year’s Eve accident that occurred around 7:00am on December 31, 2012 on northbound Interstate 405 just south of State Route 167 in Renton.

Three of the five occupants of the Outback were injured in the rollover accident. The accident victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and other local hospitals for treatment.

According to the WSP press release, the driver of a Honda Accord was speeding, driving aggressively and passing other vehicles on the right shoulder when it abruptly made a lane collision and rear-ended a green Subaru Outback. The driver of the Honda may have been racing another vehicle at the time.

The force of the collision caused the Outback to roll.

Aggressive and dangerous driving imperils other drivers on our highways and is a serious problems on our roads. Aggressive driving can encompass the following behaviors:

  • Speeding
  • Causing other drivers to perform avoidance maneuvers
  • Following other drivers too closely
  • Blowing through stop signs or traffic signals or jumping lights
  • Driving on the shoulder
  • Weaving thru traffic
  • Racing

Hopefully, those with knowledge of this accident will contact the Patrol and provide information so that the driver responsible for this horrible accident is brought to justice.
