2 men killed, 2 paramedics injured when speeding car runs into ambulance on Interstate 5 in Seattle

A 24-year-old Tumwater man and his 23-year-old passenger, a Lynnwood man, were killed in a car accident early this morning when the BMW they were riding in crashed into the rear of a Seattle Fire Department ambulance. The paramedics in the ambulance were taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

According to a report by Seattle’s KOMO News, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Mercer Street around 2:45am.

Police believe that the driver of the BMW was under the influence of alcohol and speeding when he clipped another vehicle and then crashed into the ambulance.
