A Bellevue police officer suffered minor injuries after his police cruiser was hit by a van carrying four teenagers.
According to an article in The BellevueReporter.com, the officer was headed westbound on Eighth Street when he was hit by a van traveling southbound on Bellevue Way. The van had four juveniles inside. Police arrested the driver of the van as well as one passenger because of an outstanding warrant. The motor vehicle accident occurred on Monday morning, February 16, around 5am. Police believe the van ran a red light.
The police officer was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and then released.
Police are investigating whether alcohol or drugs were involved. Charges may be pending.
