According to the report, Berleen was driving north on Ambaum Cutoff South when her vehicle was hit by a Dodge Dakota Pickup truck that was headed north on Ambaum Cutoff South.
The force of the impact caused Berleen’s vehicle to hit another vehicle.
Berleen was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she died. The 61-year-old driver of the pickup truck, a woman from Des Moines, was also admitted to Harborview with serious injuries. The driver of the third vehicle suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Police are investigating the motor vehicle accident and at this point, the Des Moines woman has not been cited.
According to the National Transportation Safety Administration fatal accident reporting system, red light runners killed 676 people in 2009 and injured another 113,000.
