Couple killed in Ridgefield, Washington single car accident

An elderly couple died in a car accident after the vehicle they were riding in went off the road and crashed at the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge center near Rest Lake. Speculation is that the couple were on a scenic drive when their car went off the road and crashed upside down.

According to a report on, a passerby noticed the crashed car around 4:45am. The car was upside down in three feet of marsh water.

The couple has not yet been identified but one report said the driver was a man from La Center, Washington, born in 1929.
