The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that a Granite Falls man was seriously injured and later died of his injuries after he was hit by a car on State Route 92 while riding a lawn mower. The motor vehicle accident occurred around noon on Sunday at 75th Street NE. The man was struck and injured by a small car and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he died.
Granite Falls is a small town north east of Marysville and about 43 miles north east from Seattle. It is located in Snohomish County and has a population of about 2,200. Granite Falls is a small town where it is not unusual for someone to ride a riding lawn mower on the highway in order to mow a neighbor’s yard. Police said drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident.
