According to the report, the accident occurred at an intersection with a four-way stop at the corner of South 112th Street and Eighth Avenue South in Boulevard Park. Witnesses said that a Ford Explorer broadsided a Honda Civic. The impact of the accident pushed the Honda off of the road.
The driver or the Ford Explorer ran away from the accident scene but the police apprehended him a short time later. If it is determined that the hit-and-run driver was intoxicated or under the influence at the time of the accident, he could be charged with Vehicular Assault. RCW 46.61.522, vehicular assault, can be charged if a person was seriously injured when a driver was intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
