Ocean Shores suspected drunken driving accident kills 1, seriously injures 2

One man was killed and two people were seriously injured when a suspected drunken driver ran his car off the road near Ocean Shores. All three were passengers in a Subaru, whose driver was not injured and has been arrested on suspicion of Vehicular Homicide.

Tommy G. Underwood, age 43, of Taholah, was killed in the car accident.

An unidentified Hoquiam man, age 33, and a Forks woman, age 28, were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and have serious injuries.

The motor vehicle accident occurred around 1am on Sunday morning approximately 15 miles north of Ocean Shores. According to KOMO News.com, the Subaru driven by Hudson was headed north on State Route 109 when Hudson swerved into the southbound lane, apparently over corrected and ran the vehicle off the road, rolling it. No one was wearing a seat belt.

Vehicular Homicide can be charged if a person is killed in a motor vehicle accident and the driver was under the influence, driving recklessly or without regard to the safety of others. Vehicular Assault can be charged if someone is seriously injured under the same conditions.
