Person injured I-5 hit-and-run car accident in Northgate

The driver of a Nissan that was driving recklessly on Interstate 5 in Northgate fled the scene of the car accident after he rear-ended an SUV around 11pm on Thursday. He left his passenger injured in the Nissan.

According to a report on Seattle’s, the driver of the Nissan had been driving up to 100 miles per hours before the accident.

Police are searching for the driver. He may be charged with Vehicular Assault when apprehended. If a person is seriously injured in a car accident and a driver was driving with reckless disregard to the safety of others or under the influence, he or she may be charged with RCW 46.61.522.

  1. Washington State Patrol says they have arrested Walter W. Walters, age 20 of Everett, who was the hit-and-run driver. Citizens reported a man hitchhiking on the northbound lanes of I-5 and the patrol was able to locate him. Troopers arrested Walters and took him to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
