A 30-year-old Seattle man is in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a motorcycle accident in which he crashed into the back a stopped ambulance on Interstate 5 near Northgate reports a Washington State patrol media release.
The motorcycle accident occurred after 6:30 am. Earlier in the morning, there had been several minor injury car accidents on the I-5. The American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance was at the scene of one of the previous accidents and stopped when the motorcyclist ran into it.
An Emergency Medical Technician barely escaped serious injury when the ambulance was hit. The report said that she suffered a hand injury.
According to the report, the cause of the motorcycle accident was most likely inattention on the motorcyclist’s part. The ambulance was in the HOV lane with its lights on when it was rear-ended.
