Causes of Head-on Collisions
Head-on collisions such as this one are usually as a result of driver negligent. The police investigation will probably point to the fact that one driver was an error. Sometimes, a driver will make one of several mistakes including attempting a U-turn, making a turn in front of oncoming traffic, passing, or drifting out of one’s lane due to driver distraction or confusion.
It will be important for all concerned in this accident to get a copy of the police report once the investigation is complete to see where blame was apportioned.
Often, injuries in a head-on collision can be serious, if not fatal because of the forces involved. Luckily, none of the injured in this accident suffered life-threatening injuries.
