Seattle school bus accident injures four Bellevue school children

Seattle’s reports that four children were injured when a semi-truck rear-ended a Bellevue School District bus. The bus was carrying 44 Medina elementary students after a field trip to a pumpkin patch.

The school bus accident occurred on Highway 9, north of 201st Street. The report said that the truck was carrying a load of wood chips and could not stop in time when traffic slowed.

According to Washington vehicle code WPI 70.04 “Duty of the Following Driver,” no driver should follow another vehicle more than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of the vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the street or highway.”
