Corvette’s driver killed in accident with farm tractor in Whatcom County

Seattle’s KOMO News reports that the 62-year-old driver of a Chevy Corvette was killed and his 60-year-old female passenger was injured when they collided with a farm tractor on West Badger Road at Markworth Road in Whatcom County Saturday afternoon.

According to the report, the driver of the Corvette was trying to pass the tractor as it made a left-hand turn. The Corvette hit the tractor’s front tire, causing the Corvette to veer off the road and roll. Witnesses said the Corvette had been speeding before the accident.

The Corvette’s driver was dead at the scene and his passenger — presumably his wife — was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham with non-life threatening injuries.
