In Washington State, pedestrians have the right of way and drivers must stop to allow pedestrians or bicyclists to cross the road within a marked or unmarked crosswalk. A legal crosswalk exists at every place where roads intersect and pedestrians have the right of way even if the crosswalk is not marked.
